As is usual, today was a great day. Church meetings were really good. There is a new teacher in Relief Society and today was her first time teaching. She is deaf, so had to have an an interpreter, but she had a very well prepared lesson and it was a great lesson.
Back home, I didn't have much to do for dinner, since I had put the pot roast and trimmings in the oven before I left. All that was left was to set the table and bake the loaf of bread. The kids got over around 5:00, but we didn't eat until around 6:30.
Brooks wanted to play in the dirt with his mighty machines, but that wasn't an option today, so we got the rice bin out and he played forever in that. Of course, at cleanup time, we had to run the vacuum, but that is a small price to pay to keep him so happy for so long. He didn't want to share, so we made a beans bin for Ashby, so they were both happy.
Since it was David's birthday yesterday, we had picked up a very decadent chocolate cake from Publix - 4 layers of chocolate cake with chocolate cream filling between each layer, plus rich dark chocolate frosting and a decoration on the top made from white chocolate. It was really wicked! David loves chocolate, so he was in heaven. Brooks ate as much as his daddy did, though. It turns out he is also a chocoholic! And Ashby kept right up with the both of them. I think they liked the cake.
It was a fun, relaxing evening. I do love my Sundays!
